FEBRUARY 21, 2012:  6:45 PM  HANOVER WRITERS CLUB MONTHLY MEETING AT THE EASTERN HANOVER FIRE STATION #3 MEETING ROOM.
SPEAKER:  DALE BRUMFIELD, AUTHOR
A Shenandoah Valley native and a Fine Arts graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Dale Brumfield worked for 20 years as a technical writer and illustrator in the theme park industry and 10 years as an employee benefits consultant before publishing a short story collection entitled “Three Buck Naked Commodes: and 18 More Tales from a Small Town” in 2009, followed the next year by the release of his first novel “Remnants: a Novel about God, Insurance and Quality Floorcoverings”. 2011 saw the release of the eNovels “Trapped Under the Pack-Ice” and “Bad Day at the Amusement Park”. In 1981 he co-founded Richmond’s ThroTTle Magazine as production manager, editor and illustrator. Dale is also an arts features writer, cartoonist and opinion commentator in Richmond’s Style Weekly magazine, and in 2010 won numerous state and national awards for his investigative cover story “The Best Worst Movie you Never Saw”, about the “lost” 1982 Richmond movie “Rock n’ Roll Hotel”. Dale lives in Doswell, Virginia with his wife Susan and three college-age children and blogs at Newsfromdoswell.com.
